What the Dutch Police Keurmerk means
The Dutch Police Keurmerk, or Police Quality Mark, is a recognised security certification awarded to products that have been independently tested to meet defined anti-theft and security standards. In the bike storage market, it is one of the most meaningful indicators of genuine security performance, as it requires physical testing rather than self-declaration.
Fietshangar: the only certified product
Fietshangar is currently the only outdoor bike storage product to carry both the Dutch Police Keurmerk and SKG-IKOB KE 470 anti-theft certification. No other bike hangar, bike locker, or outdoor storage unit in the market holds this combination of independently verified certifications.
For municipalities, housing associations, and public procurement, this is a significant differentiator. Many Dutch tender specifications require Police Keurmerk certification as a baseline condition. Products without it are not eligible, regardless of their other qualities. The certification applies to both the Fietshangar 1.8 and the Fietshangar 2.5.
